Precautionary Boil Water Recommendation for Lower Iqaluit

July 10th, 2020 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that there was an emergency water shutdown this morning, Friday, July 10th, 2020 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM. The shutdown was to allow for repairs to a valve replacement in Lower Iqaluit that affected units in the 100s, 200s, and 300s. The water is now back on.

 

There is a precautionary boil water recommendation for the following units: 89,91,93,115,117,119,120,121,122,123,124,126,125,127,128,129,130,131,132,133,134,135, 137,138,139,140,141,142,143,144,145,146,147,149,150,153,154,155,156,158,259,261,263,265, 269,273,275,276,277,279,281,285,287,291,293,295,297,298,299,300,302,303,304,305,306,307, 309,315,316,317,318,320,321,329,333,337.

 

The City recommends that residents in these areas boil their water for one minute before drinking. Water can boiled, allowed to cool and stored in a covered container for later use.

The boil water recommendation ends at 10:00 AM on Sunday, July 12th, 2020.
