Mini Community Clean Up for Papal Visit: Friday July 22, 2022
July 13, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City is organizing a mini community clean in preparation for the upcoming Papal Visit. The clean up will take place on Friday, July 22 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The City is actively looking for volunteers to take part in cleaning up the downtown core. We encourage all residents, businesses and visitors to spend the day outdoors and assist in cleaning up our beautiful community.

Bags, gloves, and other supplies will be available for pickup starting at 8:30 AM in the parking lot of Building 901.

Please tie off and leave filled garbage bags on roadsides. City staff will conduct bag pick-ups throughout the day.

We are requesting that governments and other organizations allow their employees time away from work for a half day to be able to participate at the clean up.

If you are interested in taking part in the clean up, please email Geoffrey Byrne at g.bryne@iqaluit.ca.

The City would like to thank residents and organizations in advance for your assistance and support cleaning up the City in preparation of the Papal Visit.

To report any missed garbage bags after July 22th, please contact Sue Avery at s.avery@iqaluit.ca or call 867-979-5630.
