Landfill Closure for Scrap Metal Removal

July 20, 2022 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The Iqaluit landfill will close the scrap metal portion of the site from August 7, 2022, to September 11, 2022, to allow for metal crushing activities. The landfill scrap metal area will reopen for public drop-off on September 12, 2022.

 

Due to the potential safety hazard for people, the landfill will not receive any scrap metal, appliances, or end of life vehicles during this time. Increased heavy equipment traffic may be expected in the area, please drive with caution when driving near the landfill.
