Public Information Session on the Development of Lands Along
MARCH 20, 2017 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – The City of Iqaluit and Qikiqtaaluk
Business Development Corporation are collaborating on a neighbourhood plan in
the Federal Road area. The study area covers some new development lands
between Federal Road and the Plateau.
The first stage in the planning process is to analyze opportunities and constraints and consider options.
There will be a Public Information Session held on Wednesday March 29
from 6:30-9:00 PM at the Catholic Parish Hall (building 911) to share this
information with community residents. This meeting will include a
presentation, followed by a question and answer session. There will be an
opportunity to provide comments on some key areas. Full interpretation will be
provided for the meeting. Representatives from the City of Iqaluit, the Qikiqtaaluk
Business Development Corporation, and the consultant team will be available to
answer questions about the project. Refreshments will be provided.
The end result of the project will be a new land use plan for the lands south and
north of Federal Road. This plan will be presented to City Council for adoption,
and will become the guiding policy document for land use decisions for the area.
