End-of-life vehicles, disposal fees for various sizes are available at City of Iqaluit

(Iqaluit, Nunavut) The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that end-of-life vehicles will be accepted at the landfill during regular operating hours beginning August 1, 2015. Vehicles should be brought to the south entrance of the main landfill site (entrance closest to the causeway).

Disposal costs for end-of-life vehicles are as follows (as per Schedule “C” of By-Law #709):

Car/Pick-up Truck Body - $200.00
Snowmobile - $60.00
Vehicles Larger than a Pick-up Truck - $50.00 per m3
Vehicle Batteries - $15.00 per battery
Tires - $15.00 per tire
 A disposal permit is required for each vehicle; the cost for the permit will be proportionate to the type of vehicle requiring disposal. The fees for vehicle battery and tire disposal will be added to the base cost of vehicle disposal.

The permit must be handed to the landfill attendant in order for the vehicle to be accepted. Permits can be purchased at City Hall.
