Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre
The aim of the Center is to provide activities and events in a safe, drug-free environment for young people aged 13 - 18.
The Center offers Iqaluit youth a facility to participate in many drop-in and organized activities. Young people can play pool,
table tennis, soccer, listen to music, do research on the computers, socialize with their peers, and much more. There are also
many events on weekends, such as Inuit games, hockey tournaments, movie nights and dances.
The Centre facilitates young people during non-school hours, and has been established to foster athletic, social, and life
skills, and other ways for teens to contribute to their community.
Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre is a non-profit organization operated by the City of Iqaluit. The Youth Centre, established
October 2001, is a legacy for the youth from the Iqaluit Arctic Winter Games 2002.
