Facility Rentals
Many City of Iqaluit facilities are available for rental to individuals or outside parties. Facilities will
accommodate a range of special events, including meetings, dances, dinners and other gatherings. Information for
each facility is listed below. These facilities are offered through the Recreation Department of the City of Iqaluit.

Please notice that due to undergoing renovations at the AWG Arena/Complex, from Aug. 30, 2009 until April 15, 2010, this building won't be available for rentals.

Arctic Winter Games Complex - Off season use will be May 1 to August 30.
- Arena floor dimensions are 85 feet by 200 feet
- Maximum seating capacity on floor is 500 people
- Lobby area maximum seating capacity is 150 people
- Rental cost of floor and lobby is $700.00 plus GST per day
- Rental cost of floor is $500.00 plus GST per day
- Rental cost of lobby and canteen is $30.00 per hour or $200.00 per day
- Washroom facilities and canteen onsite
- Tables and chairs are available
Abe Okpik Community Centre - Apex
- Maximum seating capacity is 75 people
- Washroom facilities onsite
- Kitchen area onsite
- Tables and chairs are available
- Rental cost is $50.00 plus per hour
- Rental cost is $300.00 per day
Baseball Fields
- Baseball field dimensions ( leftfield 257 feet, centre field 316 feet, right field 264 feet)
- Season usually opens June 30 to September 5 ( depending on weather conditions)
- Can be used for both slow-pitch and fast pitch leagues.
- Rental cost is $200.00 plus GST per team.
- Field is maintained by the City of Iqaluit Recreation Department
Playgrounds
- Playgrounds are open to the public at no charge.
- Playgrounds are designed for children ages 18 months to 12 years of age.
- Playgrounds are closed between November 1 and April 15.
- Playground hours are from 8am - 10pm.
- All children should be properly supervised by an adult
- Please assist the City of Iqaluit Recreation Department in reporting any damage or vandalism to the playgrounds. Call the City of Iqaluit Recreation at 979 5618.
