Recreation and Community Services Department

The City of Iqaluit is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all Iqalungmuit. Through its community development approach to providing recreation and leisure services to the community, Iqaluit is able to offer a wide range of exciting opportunities. Sport organizations, cultural groups, businesses, not-for-profit societies and service clubs work closely with the Department to ensure that the recreational needs of the community are met.

A complete listing of community programs, groups and events is available through the Recreation Activity Guide. The Guide is published each November and you can pick up a copy at City Hall, at the Recreation Office and at various businesses in town. The administration office for the Recreation and Community Services Department is in the Arctic Winter Games Complex located on the Apex Road. General inquiries, facility bookings and related recreational services are coordinated through this office. Please see contact list below.

Submissions must be of a recreation, non-profit, charity or community oriented nature.

Must include a contact phone number and be no longer that three sentences.

The City of Iqaluit reserves the right to limit or refuse submissions.
